IT'LL GROW BUT...

One thing you constantly hear from girls is how lackluster their hair is, followed by whining after they've gotten it cut about how horrible it looks. But i just really feel like a change after having long straight hair for the majority of my life, what do you guys think? I'm thinking either a kiko-esque length or just a trim, but i'm open to suggestions.

DAY TRIPPER

Photos from yesterday, right before the rain hit Sheung Wan (which has now become my family's new weekend hub). Attempted to seek refuge in a crowded bakery before hopping into the car and driving down a few streets before the sun came out approximately 5 minutes later and found a few cute shops where i took advantage of full length mirrors and ogled racks full of spring apparel. And yes, it was way too overcast for sunglasses but i figured it would be a while before the weather would take to being eye-wear worthy and even then it would be too hot to think about wearing anything in general (welcome to the Hong Kong summer phenomenon). 

Oh and starting from next month i've decided to make a video a month- a sort of video diary thing. I did this a while back but weekly, and i figured that it would be sort of entertaining for you guys to watch me die from exams. Thoughts?

P.S. heading back to Taiwan next week- this time most of the time will be spent in the mountains, sightseeing and only one night in Taipei. Just a heads up if you guys have any new recommendations (even though i've been 6 times in the past 3 years, there are always new places to see!)

THE DENIM SHIRT PT 1

A week ago i was asked to participate in the 7 Ways to Wear 7's blogger campaign for 7 for all Mankind. I was allowed to choose two items, and one of them was this denim shirt; light washed with rose gold details and the perfect boxy fit equals wearing it straight for the past week since i've received it. I've never really accepted the many years' worth of enshrinement of the chambray shirt as i've always worn it with the same items, but having this one has really encouraged me to think of new ways to wear it. I won't tire you guys with talk about how the denim shirt is super versatile etcetera (as says every blog slash magazine slash fashion-related visual media), though i'll try to show you through the next few posts i'll be doing. Oh and this is the skort that i bought for Yan (due to low stock in the Zara stores down under) but i made sure to do a post before sending it off as it is super cute in an origami napkin way, just the way i like it. I mean, who needs to actually look like they're wearing real clothes?

P.S. This whole time i've been avoiding any mentions of this stunning road i shot on. I'm pretty sure everyone living there was convinced we were trespassing and/or had a fetish for pink flowers but it was kind of hard not to extend loitering time to give or take 15 minutes.

And here's what's been going on lately. Trying to enjoy 'spring' as much as possible since it will undoubtedly be short-lived (i.e. 2 weeks max, thanks HK humidity); think spending hours on my balcony telling annoying neighbor chihuahua to 'shut up' and dancing to cheesy pop songs, enjoying (finally) not being sick by eating unhealthy amounts of ice cream (healthy food impetus continued? i think so). CITRON (+PLAYLIST)

I love discovering new places in Hong Kong, especially quiet ones full of cute cafes, galleries and boutiques like these ones in Sheung Wan. I felt like a total tourist, attempting to get photos of the shabby buildings, my plate of mexican food and an insane abundance of pugs- all the more reason to move here. 

By the way, i'm working on a new project with a few people at my school for a charity fashion show and it'd be really cool if you'd come to the event (i'd love to meet you!) or even just like our page to support. I just styled and photographed a photo/video shoot for it last weekend so i can't wait to share it all with you, it's been a while since i've done something collaboratively with other humans (human interaction is coming back to me i think...maybe) but it feels good in a slightly weird way, me being glued to my computer as i am.

JOKER OF THE HEART

Had some fun the other night with Alisha. We had vegetarian food at Veggie SF (so good), shot in front of my usual spot at H&M (the bear hat attracts a lot of attention, we found out the hard way), went for a banana split at The Flying Pan (not recommended, slight play-doh aftertaste and don't ask how i realized, but their other stuff is good). Then, we shopped for jelly drinks (bringing out my inner 5 year old japanese kid- which to choose?) in IFC before a late movie. All in all a very fun night. This sweater has just the right amount of batwing-length ratio (a rare feat) and i've been obsessed with backpacks because then i can run around that way i do swinging my arms like a total freak whilst not loosing stuff. Thumbs up.
