I want to thank you guys for being supportive and amazing during 2012, you've really helped make this blog what it is. I'm not one for new year's resolutions but it's safe to say anything i wished for last year seems fulfilled right now in retrospect. I've been so lucky to have met and worked with so many amazing people including you guys. I hope you all have an amazing new year and remainder of the holiday, see you in 2013!

HEY BART

I was one of those people who thought Jeremy Scott's Bart Simpson knit ensembles were semi-ridiculous until i saw them on Cara Delevingne (seeing clothes on models puts things in perspective....insightful thought Zoe). So when a similar (albeit containing a less-realistic portrayal of Bart's face) sweater comes out online via. the phenomenon we call 'fast fashion', a Cara/Scott fan like myself will not hesitate to click 'add to cart'. But Cara (being Cara, of course) can pull of even the most unbecoming things so really the effectiveness of the purchase is up to the internet to decide (vicious cycle? i think so). Only half-kidding though, because i'm a clothes/book/everything hoarder, my keep/throw priorities are pretty messed up, making this blog post a sufficient call of help. For evidence, see my desk which currently only has an 11 inch rectangle of free space- conveniently the size of my laptop. 

Anyways, have a great night guys! Treasure the last days of 2012, because we all know the awkward induction period to the new year (January through March in my case) when we'll have to add a little curly tail to our '2012's' to make the '2' a '3'. Or maybe that's just me.

FAVORITE HK SPOTS: MR. BLACKSMITH

One of my favorite shops in Hong Kong is Mr. Blacksmith in Wanchai. What started as a Christmas gift mission quickly turned into a mental checklist of things i don't really need but want. The downstairs section is full of little knick-knacks such as pens, cards, board games and such, whilst upstairs stores a bunch of cool furniture (magritte-esque bowler hat lamps, floral paper deer wall busts, and neon signs galore). I like to think that if someone needs to buy a gift, heading to this shop won't give you a lot of leeway for mistakes. And of course I had a lot of fun just imagining decorating a future apartment with everything in there (i mean...that mirror....ugh).
So if any of you guys need to buy a gift or self-gift to spice up your apartment, check it out some time.

THE TRIAL OF THE CENTURY

Anything checked/plaid/tartan/houndstooth just gets so much more relevant in the winter, bonus points if the pattern includes the color red. I'm back from Bangkok just in time for Christmas and this backpack was perfect- light, roomy and with tons of pockets (drool). Hong Kong is enjoying a surprisingly chilly holiday this year which i love since it allows me to layer profusely- think thermals and tees and shirts and hoodies. (Just to defend my non-existent weather consciousness  these pictures were taken before i left to Bangkok.)
